Pierre Ernest Ballue was born on February 27th, 1855 in La Haye Descartes, on the street which bears its name today, into an old family entitled the haisienne. he died in the same place on May 18th, 1928.
The origins of its family dates back to 1626 both in La Haye and in Buxeuil. The family gave birth to gave to La Haye Descartes of the clerks and two mayors: Rene Ballue, lawyer at the Parliament of Paris, mayor of 1804 to 1807 and Pierre Ballue, former Pomegranate captain of the Empire of 1816 to 1830.
Pierre Ballue specialized in the painting of landscapes and his works were shown for the first time in 1875 to the Company of the French Artists. He studied the Valleys of Defaux and Damezon. His works were shown regularly to the artists of Paris and he received medals in 1891,1911 and 1920.
Several provincial mueseums house works of this painter. He painted various places within France, all with a resemblence or homage to his native Touraine. Several of ihis worksrepresent the surroundings of Descartes.
The work of the painter is primarily created with oil-base paints on fabric, but he has also done some works in pastel.
